Following the Face Off Dc Comic Character, "McFarlane. Capullo. Batman. Spawn. December," which broke the news at the convention, DC is now disclosing additional details about what fans can anticipate when Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo square off in Batman/Spawn. In the highly anticipated comic, out on December 13, the Court of Owls tries to use Spawn to defeat Batman after avoiding each other's company for nearly two decades.
"You know, this is extremely easy. I get to work with Batman, one of the greatest comic book characters ever, and rejoin with the incredible Greg Capullo. Plus, I get to include my own invention, Spawn, into the plot. Writer Todd McFarlane stated, "These are the kinds of projects that many of us creators in the comic industry only get to be a part of a few times in our careers."
Artist Greg Capullo stated, "I was lucky enough to be able to draw both Spawn and Batman each for over a decade." I now get to put those decades of knowledge to use by giving the fans the event they have been waiting over 20 years for. Batman and Spawn meet once more. There will be fire.
Greg Capullo will create the primary cover for Batman/Spawn, while Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, Franceso Mattina, Sean Murphy, J. Scott Campbell, and Gabriele Dell'otto will each create a variant. Additionally, there will be ratio variations by Jim Lee (1:100), Brett Booth (1:50), and Jason Fabok (1:25). Additionally, fans can obtain a 1:250 signed inked version of McFarlane's main cover as well as 1:666 signed versions of McFarlane or Capullo's main cover. And last, there will be a 1:1000 signed main cover by McFarlane and Capullo.

"I want to make this book as enjoyable to read as I can, both in terms of the visuals and the plot," McFarlane continued. Batman/Spawn: The Classic Collection, which will be available on November 15, gathers the first two crossover stories—Spawn/Batman by Frank Miller and Todd McFarlane and Batman/Spawn: War Devil#1 by renowned Batman writers and artists Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, and Klaus Janson—before the release of Batman Spawn.
